Cartersville location working hours vary, but most often are scheduled by priority as follows: Evening/Nights: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday Middle of the Day: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday Mornings: 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday No FWS student is allowed to work over 19 hours per week. Scheduled work hours are dependent upon FWS fund allocation.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

This position provides support for various functions within the library and testing work environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists patrons at the Circulation Desk
• Assists with stack maintenance, including shelving, shifting, and shelf reading
• Assists with inventory
• Assists with processing Inter-library Loans and GIL Express requests
• Assists with display creation and maintenance
• Assists with the creation and posting of advertisements such as flyers and signs
• Assists with maintaining the professional appearance of the library and/or testing center
• Provides general office and administrative support assistance
• Assists with general office duties, such as filing, copying, etc.
• Must maintain the confidentiality of all patron records for the library and/or testing center
• Willing to learn new technologies and perform demonstrations as needed, for instance, 3D printing
• Performs related duties as assigned

Key Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in Georgia Highlands College
• Must be Pell Grant eligible (FAFSA)
• Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
• Must have an unmet need based on the total cost of student attendance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent
• Ability to adapt to changing levels of activity
• Some knowledge of college policies and procedures
• Some knowledge of computers and software programs used by GHC
• Knowledge of customer service practices
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing

Salary $8.00/hour
